The significance of Islamic economics in the contemporary financial landscape extends beyond its role as a fairer and more transparent alternative to conventional financial systems; it also contributes to broader global economic stability. A central concept within Islamic economics is murabahah, which represents one of the most widely applied contractual arrangements in Islamic banking. This study employs a qualitative approach using descriptive analysis to examine the concept of murabahah within the framework of Islamic economics, drawing upon perspectives derived from the Qur’an and Hadith. The findings indicate that murabahah operates as a sale-and-purchase contract in which the bank acts as a seller by acquiring goods on behalf of the customer and subsequently reselling them at a mutually agreed price that includes a disclosed profit margin. This mechanism aligns with the principles articulated in the Qur’an and Hadith, which emphasize fairness, transparency, and honesty in economic transactions.
