Waste has a negative impact, water pollution caused from the results of the laundry process by the presence of phosphate and COD content, causing turbidity and blocking the entry of sunlight which will result in water pollution. Based on the results of testing wastewater from one of the laundry businesses in the residents' homes in the Penaraga area, Bima City, data obtained for COD content of 239.25 mg/L and phosphate of 16 mg/L. The COD and phosphate content exceeds the wastewater quality standard. Based on the existing problems, an alternative for COD and phosphate removal that is easy, cheap, and effective is the phytoremediation technique using apu wood (Pistia stratiotes). This study aims to analyze the efficiency of apu wood plants in measuring and reducing COD and phosphate levels in wastewater. The method used is a laboratory scale experiment using a container in the form of a plastic bucket filled with 100% wastewater. Preliminary research carried out was the acclimatization process of plants for 5 days, then phytoremediation tests were carried out for 20 days or until the plants died. The results of this study showed that the apu wood plant was able to survive only until the 7th day with the percentage of COD and phosphate in wastewater of 8.753%, 20.033%, and 46.875%.
